The Panzer Kampfwagen V Panther was a revolutionary German medium tank that saw service during the Second World War. First seeing combat during the epic Battle of Kursk in Russia in 1943, it became the backbone of the German Panzerwaffe until the end of the war. Its 7.5 cm KwK 42 L70 long tank gun could penetrate almost all the armor of its rivals. Sloped armor provided strong protection, touted to be better than the Tiger I.
